BORA INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTIST

How does she trust her imagination in bringing her ideas alive without fear?

Born and raised in France, Bora had began her successful career just six years ago. Having an amazing sense of creativity and talent, her mind has been an open gift to us all. Being labelled as a multi-disciplinary artist, she can really do it all from painting, sculpture, science, costume design, studio animation to being in charge of the decor for her own practices. Also known as an activist for the LGBTQ community, beating the norms of BEAUTY STANDARDS and acknowledging MENTAL HEALTH within her career.

Growing up her dream was to become a classical musician, that route had ran through her families own interest. Having had the experience of playing the violin before switching to singing, creating album covers and live performance. Once her dad had gifted her a camera, her interests took a massive shift as she began photographing the naked bodies of her friends. Grasping the idea of editing and the after effects of sound and visual experience through a 2D or 3D scanning.

People had labelled her work as 'DISGUSTING' but that increasingly built her drive to deconstruct, shape-shift and create fear within her practices. Bora has always intended for her characters to be proud of who they are. The term 'UNHEALED HEALERS' tells a story about them existing in our reality and experiencing it. Despite all of these experiences they chose to be themselves to heal, but noticing and healing requires time.

The foundation of her career uses imagination as a form of activism, noting that reality is a space given to live at birth and understanding early on that it has it's own norms and rules. We are conditioned for this life and that's why she uses her imagination as her super power to escape the real world. Bora has always been stuck inside her own head and has always enjoyed daydreaming.

The 'SOFT CREATURES' project is one of Bora's most successful collections. She creates magical and surreal objects that can be worn as earrings, necklaces, headpieces or even costumes. The catch is that they are created in a digital realm to which may translate into a physical form. In another project called 'BABY', she worked to create an extension of another artists persona, digitalizing it for an album campaign for him.

Often enjoying the process of transforming and morphing herself. She quotes that "physicality is not limited to our reality, and our senses as humans can make us feel a lot in experiencing digital stimuli. Like for example, when we dream we experience a lot of that." This is why her dreams are a massive inspiration to the production of her art work allowing us to feel all these crazy feelings.

Linking her career and personal life into one bubble, accepting the ups and downs and riding through the rollercoaster of self sabotage, failures and plenty of successes. Wanting people to acknowledge her for being human who isn't perfect, if there's art to be published but isn't quite complete then it wouldn't matter to her. That is the reason, she TRUSTS her ideas in coming to life without  judgmental.
